we really enjoyed our stay at macdonald portal. the location is great, just a quick drive from our next stop at peckfortan castle. the spa facilities are amazing, perfect for some relaxation, and the staff were really friendly. we appreciated the clean and well-maintained room we stayed in.

the check-in process could be improved a bit.

Had a pretty good time here! The grounds were lovely and I found the food decent, though a bit pricey. The staff could be more attentive since we waited for breakfast items to be refilled. The Deluxe Double Room was fine, but some areas of the hotel felt a tad worn out. nice experience!

The spa facilities here were a blast, especially the sauna and steam rooms. The views of the grounds were stunning and super relaxing.

the location was lovely, really nice grounds with beautiful views. the spa was spot on, had the hottest steam room ever! breakfast was good too, and the deluxe king room was comfy and clean. the staff at reception were super friendly and made the check-in process a breeze.

Just a reliable pick for a city holiday in Tarporley with good value for cost. The sprawling swimming pool was a nice surprise after a long drive. Bring your own snacks since the breakfast options can be hit or miss.

Lovely countryside retreat with excellent facilities

I had a delightful stay with a few friends, enjoying the beautiful countryside setting and spacious rooms. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making our experience more enjoyable. We particularly liked the well-equipped gym and spa facilities. the breakfast service could be better organized to enhance the overall experience.

Great vegan breakfast, but no jacuzzi available for non-swimmers. Staff very friendly.

The evening meal was a pleasant surprise despite slow service. the burger was delicious! Loved the gym facilities, but the balcony view was just a brick wall. I'd come back for the golf!

The hotel had a fabulous swimming pool that my kids absolutely loved, and the grounds around were lovely for evening walks. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was clean, which made our stay much more enjoyable.

Had an amazing stay with friends! We enjoyed excellent golf on the Championship Course and relaxed at the spa, which was a perfect escape. The rooms were comfy, and the staff was friendly. Just keep in mind the breakfast could use better organization.
